Info below reTasmanian Lifeguard Challenge from Geri Doherty if you're interested in getting a team together let me know:
This is a fun new RLSSA initiative in Tassie to get Lifeguards from all around the State together, a couple of times a year, to “challenge” each other’s lifesaving skills. It’s also just a really fun & friendly excuse to get everyone in the Aquatics Industry together to develop a sense of a community and encourage networking within the industry.
The seasonal Tasmanian Lifeguard Challenge will also double as a fun lifesaving training session that is organised by RLSSA. These events will be the perfect opportunity for everyone who competes to update particular lifesaving skills, network and make friends in a fun & challenging atmosphere.
Details for the first Tasmanian Lifeguard Challenge:
• Burnie Aquatic
• Saturday 6th May
• 4pm – 6pm, followed by a BBQ at Burnie Aquatic Centre
• It would be fantastic to see you there with a team of 4 to represent your part of the State
Highlight the following months in your calendar for the 2016 Tasmanian Lifeguard Challenge Series:
• May (winter)
• October (spring)
• December (summer)
There is no age limit for these events. We have competitors aged 16 – 60 who are already entered in the Lifeguard Challenge. All you need is a team of 4 with a fun/lifesaving/aquatic theme team name to have a crack at the first Challenge with these short course events:
• 12.5m rope throw
• 50m manikin tow with flippers
• 4 x 50m medley relay
• 50m freestyle with obstacles
• 4 x 50m obstacle relay
The Challenge starts at 4pm on 6th May and will be finished by around 6pm, followed by a BBQ at Burnie Aquatic for everyone who competed and helped out.
Information for the winter 2017 event:
* Entries close Wednesday 3 May 2017
* Cost is $40 per team, plus pool entry fees
* Teams must consist of at least 4 competitors
